Breakout Terms of Use
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Christopher Patton ("we", "us") for using the Breakout app and website ("Breakout"). Please read them. By creating an account or using Breakout, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Breakout.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. What Breakout does
Breakout brings your creator stats into one place, shows trends and best times to post or go live, helps you plan your content, and gives you ideas from an AI coach.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you're under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before using Breakout and connecting your accounts.
- You must give a real email address and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person per account.
3. Connecting YouTube and Twitch
- You can choose to connect platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Breakout only asks for read-only access. It can't post, edit or delete anything on your channels.
- Only connect channels you own or are allowed to manage.
- YouTube: Breakout uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube to Breakout, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Twitch: your use of Twitch is covered by the Twitch Terms of Service.
- You can disconnect a platform at any time in the app.
- Platforms can change or limit what data they share, or how often. When that happens, some Breakout features may change or stop working.
4. The AI coach
- The AI coach uses Claude, made by Anthropic, to suggest ideas based on your stats.
- Its suggestions are ideas, not guarantees. They can be wrong or out of date. Growth depends on many things outside our control, and we don't promise any particular result.
- You're responsible for what you post and for following each platform's rules.
- To keep the service running fairly, there are daily limits on how often the coach can be used.
- Please don't put other people's personal information (like someone's full name, address or contact details) into your questions to the coach.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law or anyone else's rights
- try to access other people's accounts or data
- try to hack, overload, copy or reverse-engineer Breakout
- use automated tools to access Breakout or get around its limits
- use Breakout to break YouTube's, Twitch's or any other platform's rules
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content and data
- Your stats, plans and coach conversations belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Breakout for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Breakout's app, design, name and logo belong to us.
- Videos, clips, thumbnails, titles and other content shown in Breakout from YouTube, Twitch and other platforms belong to their creators and the platforms. Breakout only displays them to you; it doesn't give you or us any extra rights to them.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback about Breakout, we can use them to improve Breakout without owing you anything for them. Thank you, it really helps.
7. Price and changes
- Breakout is currently free while it's being tested.
- We may add paid features later. We'll always tell you the price clearly before you pay anything, and you won't be charged without agreeing first.
- We're improving Breakout all the time, so features may be added, changed or removed.
8. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account → Delete my account). This permanently deletes your data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we need to stop offering Breakout. Where we can, we'll give you notice first.
9. Availability and responsibility
- We work hard to keep Breakout running and accurate, but it's provided "as is". It may sometimes be unavailable, and stats can be delayed or differ from what the platforms show.
- We aren't responsible for problems caused by YouTube, Twitch or other services, or for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you're using Breakout as a consumer, these terms don't affect your legal rights.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Breakout after that, the new terms apply.
11. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
12. General
- These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Breakout.
- If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer this agreement to someone else, for example if Breakout is sold. Your rights under these terms won't be reduced. You can't transfer your account or this agreement to someone else.
- Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
